Thisoptionmountsanentiredrive;theentirediskdriveismounted
virtuallyontothetargetserver.Usethisoptionforharddrivesand
externaldrivesonly;itdoesnotincludenetworkdrives,CD‐ROM,or
DVD‐ROMdrives.ThisistheonlyoptionforwhichRead‐Writeis
available.

MtargetserversrunningcertainversionoftheWindows
operatingsystemmaynotacceptnewmassstorageconnectionsafteran
NTFS‐formattedpartition(e.g.,thelocalCdrive)hasbeenredirectedto
them.Ifthisoccurs,closetheKXII‐101RemoteConsoleandreconnect
beforeredirectinganothervirtualmediadevice.Ifotherusersare
connectedtothesametargetserver,theymustal
soclosetheir
connectionstothetargetserver.
¾ To access a drive on the client computer:
1. FromtheVirtualKVMClient,selectVirtualMedia>ConnectDrive.
TheMapVirtualMediaDrivedialogopens:
2. ChoosethedrivefromtheLocalDrivedrop‐downlist.
3. Ifyouwantreadandwritecapabilities,selecttheRead‐Writeoption
checkbox.Thisoptionisdisabledfornon‐removabledrives.Please
refertotheconditionswhenread‐writeisnotavailable(onpage
109)fo
rmoreinformation.Whenchecked,youwillbeabletoreador
writetheconnectedUSBdisk.
